  Air France lightens its 30,000 workstations by using Intranex

  The airline carrier is replacing all of its PC’s and laptops with thin clients. Their personnel can thus access their mainframe’s applications with ease.

  The carrier opted for Intranex, the Web-to-Host solution from Ilex. The user accesses the Web-to-Host servers with a browser and selects their desired mainframe. The server sends the corresponding configuration file to them. The link is then established directly from the workstation according to the rights attached to the user’s profile. Intranex is deployed on all of the group’s workstations.

  Air France’s Central Works Council

  Air France’s Central Works Council has retained Meibo for its Web marketplace.

  Following an audit carried out during 2007, the elected officials of Air France’s Central Work’s Council decided to re-organise the body by providing it with a new organisation and rethink its internal and client facing tools and methods in order to manage and balance its finances better. The management of the Central Works Council’s product catalogue, reservation and purchase of the products by Air France’s personnel and clients was carried out mainly by paper based procedures: publication of a paper catalogue twice a year, reservation and purchase coupons sent by post and manually processed by the Works Councils. From now on, all these processes will be automated thanks to the creation of this Web marketplace. Meibo will be used for the marketplace management and product catalogue interfaces.

  Orange entrusts access to their IT system via its global Intranet portal to INTRANEX HOST PORTAL

  When Orange found themselves abandoned by certain Operating Systems, it became unavoidable that they quickly find a substitute technology capable of replacing a system that was heavily used throughout the company. The issue that the company found itself presented with, was how to review the technical infrastructure without de-stabilising the existing one, and with minimal deployment cost. It was after many technical evaluations that Orange definitively made their choice of thin client, architecture and Java language.
